How to get a sound Ted Nugent on guitar?
How is Uncle Ted sound like in 'cat scratch fever' and 'great white buffalo "for guitar. Is there any pedals that you can use that sound?
For Cat Scratch Fever, I really do not I really believe he used no effect at all. I think it is mainly the large semi-hollow body Gibson with humbuckers and a tube overdrive battery Marshall 100W. Any further delay and such effects were performed by the recording engineer. There were all the pedals that you have again today when he did that song. (I know, me playing as a teenager in those days. Even I was Cat Scratch Fever!) Back then there was only a few pedals like a Cry Baby Wah, Vox or Morley Fuzz Wah, a couple of boxes of distortion of the Department of Defense, the BigMuff and phase shifters. There is a really big selection. Mostly is distortion of our overdriving the amplifier. distortion boxes sounded pretty shit then. I used a wah pedal more often, myself. Back in '78 or so I used a phaser stone sometimes too. Beyond that, there really was not much worth using at the time. For today, I would do about the same thing. Try not to process too with pedals. If you have humbuckers and a distortion of adjustment for amplifier, just Crank It Up! Adjusting Line 6 metal works well if you have a line 6. If you have main volume and a volume control, and then crank Master 10, treble at 9 or 10 under at 10, average about 7 That should be enough overdrive to get a good distortion.
